“DAR 1+3” Program: State allocates 10 million lei for 35 diaspora-led projects

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the list of 35 projects to be funded under this year's "Diaspora Home Succeeds at Home DAR 1+3" Program on July 9. The total state contribution is 10 million lei, following the government's decision to increase the funding allocated for each project from 250,000 lei to 350,000 lei.

This initiative aims to support local communities by involving citizens from the diaspora in the development of their hometowns.

The selected projects cover a wide range of areas, including infrastructure modernization, playgrounds, parks, and the renovation of cultural and educational institutions. Additionally, there are projects focused on environmental protection, energy efficiency, and sports infrastructure.

“It is a program that has reached its sixth edition, aiming to connect our citizens from the diaspora to their native localities. It is a heartfelt program where, on one hand, the Government contributes funds for implementing projects at the local level, while members of the diaspora also make financial contributions alongside the local public authorities. This creates a very successful tripartite partnership. While some are trying to block the voting rights of the diaspora, we are building bridges and connections with Moldovans who care deeply about the events in the Republic of Moldova. We are grateful to them for financially supporting their hometowns,” said the Minister of Education and Research, Dan Perciun, at a government meeting.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean also expressed gratitude to the diaspora for their investments in the villages of the Republic of Moldova, stating, “We will continue to allocate resources for such projects that benefit our communities.”

Beneficiaries are required to complete the procurement procedures for goods and services funded by the budget by the end of 2025. They must carry out the projects within a maximum of 12 months from their approval.

We remind you that the DAR 1+3 program encourages the diaspora to invest in the economic and social development of the Republic of Moldova. Project financing follows the “1+3” formula, involving the diaspora, the Government of the Republic of Moldova, local public authorities, and development partners.

Since its inception in 2020, over 194 local development projects have been successfully implemented through this program.
