Moldovans who worked in Slovakia will receive pensions from that country

Citizens of Moldova who have officially worked in the Slovak Republic will now be eligible to receive pensions and other social benefits from Slovakia. Today, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the initiation of negotiations on a draft Administrative Arrangement to implement the Agreement between the two countries regarding social security.
The document aims to promote collaboration between institutions for implementing pension rights and other social benefits for citizens who work or have worked in both states.
As a result, the Republic of Moldova will ensure pension rights for individuals who have contributed to social security, even if they have not worked in Moldova for at least 15 years. If their combined work experience in both countries meets this requirement, they will qualify for a pension. Both the Republic of Moldova and Slovakia will calculate and disburse pensions only for insurance periods completed within their own territories, in accordance with the principle of proportionality.
We remind you that our country has signed similar agreements with 23 other states.
