The 11th Diaspora Congress opens today in Chisinau, with Moldovans from dozens of countries attending
Moldovans living abroad are participating today, August 15, in the 11th edition of the Diaspora Congress. The event is taking place at the Palace of the Republic in Chisinau and brings together citizens from various countries to discuss Moldova's integration into the European Union. Participants will explore how the diaspora can contribute to the country’s economic, social, and cultural development.
The Congress is being held in conjunction with Diaspora Days 2025, organized by the Diaspora Relations Office in August. Over 300 activities occurred in Chisinau and other locations, including the “DOR” camps for children returning from vacation, the Diaspora Youth Forum, the Diaspora Cup in mini-football, and hikes to local tourist destinations.
The Diaspora Congress is organized by the Diaspora Relations Office, with support from GIZ Moldova, UNDP Moldova, and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
