Border police officers, suspected of organizing illegal migration
This morning, several searches were carried out in the districts of Briceni, Edineț, Soroca and at the state border crossing point Grimăncăuți - Vascovți. The law enforcement officers documented a group of people, made up of civilians and employees of the MAI subdivisions, who facilitated the crossing of the state border of the Republic of Moldova by Ukrainian citizens, through the green zone, and received between 3000 and 5000 EURO.
According to the Internal Protection and Anti-corruption Service (SPIA) of the MAI, the extras, through border police employees, entered the identity documents of Ukrainian citizens into the Information System, applying the entry stamp to their passports, in their absence, to demonstrate legal entry on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
Therefore, this ensures applicants the possibility of legal transit from the Republic of Moldova to the European Union.
In this context, the General Inspectorate of the Border Police announces that it provides all the necessary support to the criminal investigation body and PCCOCS and reiterated that it will intervene every time it is requested to clean the system of people involved in various illegal activities.
