Moldova launches new digital system for wills and probate files

Notaries in the Republic of Moldova are now registering inheritance and probate records in a new IT system for wills and succession files, recently launched by the Ministry of Justice.
According to Minister Vladislav Cojuhari, the system adheres to the latest cybersecurity standards and significantly streamlines the work of notaries, while citizens benefit from faster and higher-quality services.
"November brings good news for notaries. The Ministry of Justice has successfully launched the information system for probate files and wills. Within this register, notaries can register, search for, or withdraw succession files and wills very quickly, using a computer browser and just a few clicks. (...) This is a firm step in the digitalization of justice in our country. We are investing in work efficiency, reduced processing time, and improved quality of services provided to citizens," the Minister of Justice stated in a video post on Facebook.
The new system is accessible to notaries via Mpass and is interconnected through MConnect with governmental state registers, including the State Register of the Population. This interconnectivity allows for quick, secure, and accurate access to information using the Personal Identification Number (IDNP), minimizing errors.
Moreover, notaries can verify the authenticity of information in real-time and avoid overlapping procedures.
Citizens from anywhere in the world can request information from the register through the eservicii.gov.md portal, provided they have an electronic signature.
