Marina Tauber says that the authorities in Chisinau would organize military provocations. Daniel Voda: These are false claims, promoting fear and disunity in society
"Șor" Party deputy Marina Tauber came out today in a press conference and declared that the Chisinau authorities would prepare a military provocation in the Transnistrian region. According to the parliamentarian, this alleged action would take place on the second day of Easter, April 17, and would involve the participation of at least 10 thousand Romanian citizens. In response, government representatives say that the information released in the public space by Tauber is nothing but a falsehood and part of a discourse to promote fear and disunity in society.
The "Șor" deputy, Marina Tauber, who was released from judicial control a month ago, being under criminal investigation, came out and said that the authorities in Chisinau had sent, last week, to Romania, 10 thousand uniforms of the National Police and 10 thousand uniforms of the Army. She insisted that this information had been provided to her by international special services, but did not specify which ones.
"According to international special services data, received from several sources, there is accurate and verified information that our authorities, Maia Sandu and Dorin Recean, are preparing a military provocation on the border with Transnistria. This provocation is planned for 17 April. The purpose of this action is the participation of the international contingent in military actions on the territory of the Republic of Moldova", Marina Tauber said.
Government spokesman Daniel Voda says Tauber's statements are false and are launched with the aim of promoting fear and disunity in society.
"Ms Tauber's statements are false and are part of a constant discourse to promote fear and disunity in society. Ms Tauber is trying to cover up the total failure of paid protests in front of funders. State institutions are working to prevent such provocations and keep the situation under control," the government representative said.
Marina Tauber was released from judicial custody on 23 February. She is accused of falsifying the financial report of the "Șor" party and of accepting the financing of the party by an organised criminal group. During searches on 20 October 2022, prosecutors and CNA officers seized more than 4.2 million lei and $4,000, and on 2 November 2022, more than 320 thousand lei were found and seized from the offices of the "Șor" Party and the homes of persons suspected of organising the protests. Prosecutors say that over the past months, with the help of special technical means, it has been possible to document several episodes in which members of the organized criminal group have transmitted more than 3.3 million lei, 61 thousand euros and 55 thousand dollars to members and activists of the "Șor" Party.
