Romania continues to help the Republic of Moldova in the educational process. USM and University of Bucharest presented joint projects for 2023-2024
The Republic of Moldova needs high quality education in order to become part of the European Union as soon as possible. Thus, Romania continues to help our country in the educational process. During a joint press conference of the rectors of the State University of Moldova and the University of Bucharest, joint projects for 2023-2024 were presented, including the development of partnerships, the offer of international scholarships and the exchange of experience between the two institutions.
With Romania's support, the State University of Moldova has been carrying out various important projects for the institution for several years now. Several classrooms have been modernised, a lecture hall has been renovated and a newsroom has been created for journalism students, equipped with the necessary equipment for news production.
"The collaboration of universities through exchange of students, best practices, scientific and teaching staff, study programmes and joint efforts, in which we could participate together with the University of Bucharest in European projects, but for this we still need some efforts", said the rector of USM, Igor Șarov.
Also today, the Faculty of Law of the State University of Moldova and the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest adopted a joint resolution, which provides for the holding of conferences, organisation and conduct of public lectures, seminars and round tables between the two institutions.
"We will try to continue to support the State University of Moldova and other universities in the Republic of Moldova in the process of European integration, because the role of universities in the integration process is extremely important", stressed the rector of the University of Bucharest, Marian Preda.
"This year, we will also have projects with other universities in the Republic of Moldova and Romania. We need to promote and support our common culture", said Adrian Dupu, Secretary of State in the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova.
The event was also attended by an advisor to the Romanian President, who said that Klaus Iohannis constantly supports reforms in our country, including those in education.
"The President of Romania, welcoming the initiative of the two universities, underlined the role that education and university education, higher education plays in the European path of the Republic of Moldova", stressed the advisor Sergiu Nistor.
In the coming period, the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of Education of Romania will sign a joint project, which will allow professors and researchers from institutions on both sides of the Prut to have access to research facilities in Romania.
