Energocom sold over 270 million cubic meters of gas from strategic stocks to Moldovagaz for three months: "The price is lower than the one offered by Gazprom"
Energocom sold about 275 million cubic meters of natural gas to Moldovagaz in January-March. The company says the gas sold came from strategic stocks. They were sold at a weighted average price of $1,095 per thousand cubic metres, excluding VAT, $12 less than the price offered by Gazprom.
"The gas sold by SA Energocom came from strategic stocks, procured from autumn 2022 onwards, at stock exchange prices at that time. We acted at that time, like all of Europe, by purchasing stocks to be prepared for the energy crisis, with prices comparable or lower than in many countries", announces Energocom.
Energocom's acting director, Victor Bânzari, says the company is analysing offers on the market to start buying natural gas again at prices that are now more advantageous than during the cold period.
Energocom SA was empowered by the provisions of the Commission for Exceptional Situations to make gas stocks and then sell them to Moldovagaz.
