The transfer of the Chisinau International Airport to state management is the result of the fight against corruption, the country's President Maia Sandu has said.
"This action is a result of the fight against corruption, it is an important result, a proof that things can be done, obviously when everyone respects the law, including those in the judiciary and when anti-corruption institutions are fully involved. This action should encourage us to move forward, to bring justice and to sanction the abuses and acts of corruption that have been committed", said the Head of State.
As of today, 28 March, the Chisinau International Airport will no longer be managed by the company "Avia Invest", but will pass into state management. According to the director of the Public Property Agency, Alexandru Musteață, the process of taking over the assets has started.
At the same time, the company "Avia Invest" qualifies this action as a raider attack and mentions that it has appealed the termination of the contract in court.
