Two Ukrainians tried to smuggle more than $100,000 into Moldova without declaring it. They arrived in Chisinau on a Tel Aviv flight
Two 32-year-old citizens of Ukraine are accused of trying to smuggle over $100,000 into Moldova without declaring it. The case was registered today at Chisinau International Airport. According to the Customs Service, the two men arrived in Chisinau on a Tel Aviv flight.
According to the source, the two Ukrainian citizens denied during customs control that they had anything to declare. However, during the additional baggage check, financial means worth $30,000 and $70,700 respectively were found on the two.
Customs officers say the money was taken and the amount is liable to confiscation. In turn, the suspects are liable to be penalised under the provisions of Articles 43¹, 287 para. (10) Contravention Code.
