The government approved the draft law of the state budget for the year 2023
The draft of the state budget for the year 2023 was approved on Wednesday, December 7, during the meeting of the cabinet of ministers. According to the Minister of Finance, Dumitru Budianschi, the budget was elaborated, emerging from the crises faced by the Republic of Moldova.
The minister stated that for next year economic growth of 2%, an average inflation of 15% and an increase of the average salary in the economy by 13.8% - up to 11,700 lei are estimated.
Dumitru Budianschi specified that the state budget revenues for 2023 will be 64.9 billion lei, up 9.3% compared to 2022, and expenses - 83.2 billion lei (6% of GDP), up 23% compared to 2022.
Thus, in 2023, we will have a deficit of over 18 billion lei, which is 6% of GDP. The authorities rely on external funds to cover most of the budget deficit.
According to the draft law, the share of the state debt will not exceed 122 billion lei (increasing by 21.4 billion lei), which represents 39.7% of GDP, increasing by 3.4 percentage points more. Of the total value of the debt, 69.4 represents the external debt.
