DOR program registration open; applications accepted until April 22

The Diaspora Relations Office (BRD) is now accepting registrations for the government program "DOR - Diaspora Origins Returns." This initiative is designed for children and young people both in the country and abroad, with the goal of promoting and preserving national traditions and values. Participation is free, and applications can be submitted between March 30 and April 22.
This year's edition, the 14th, will take place in two sessions during the first and second halves of August.
Eligible participants include children from both the diaspora and the Republic of Moldova, aged between 12 and 17. Children from the diaspora must be able to communicate in Romanian. Priority will be given to candidates who have not previously participated in the program.
As in previous years, participants will have the opportunity to explore the Republic of Moldova while enhancing their Romanian communication skills through various cultural, educational, and sports activities organized within the camps.
Expenses will be covered by the state budget, and participants from abroad will only need to pay for their travel tickets to and from the Republic of Moldova.
Diaspora students must complete the form available on the official website of the Diaspora Relations Office and submit a video message, no longer than one minute, explaining their interest in participating in Romanian.
Candidates from the Republic of Moldova should submit a three-minute video message on the topic: "The values that unite us, wherever we are." They are also required to provide evidence of their involvement in extracurricular activities. Accepted documentation includes diplomas, certificates, or mentions that reflect participation in sports, artistic, academic, or volunteer activities.
The DOR program was first launched in 2013 as an initiative to create a summer camp for Moldovan teenagers in the diaspora. Over time, the number of participants has increased to include students from the Republic of Moldova.
To date, more than 1,100 children have participated in DOR summer camps.
