Moldova’s parliament speaker rallies Vienna diaspora around EU integration goals

The Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament, Igor Grosu, met with the Moldovan community in Vienna at the start of his official visit to Austria. The discussions centered on Moldova's progress toward European Union membership and the essential reforms required for accession.
Speaker Grosu described the dialogue as a transparent review of the nation’s current domestic trajectory. He emphasized that the government’s priority remains the modernization of the judicial system to build a credible institutional framework.
Strategic engagement with the diaspora
“We discussed the tangible steps we are taking toward EU integration,” Grosu stated. He noted that the diaspora remains a vital pillar of support, staying deeply connected to the transformation occurring within Moldova despite the geographical distance.
The Speaker characterized the Moldovan community in Austria as highly integrated and respected. He remarked that their professional contributions strengthen both the Austrian economy and Moldova’s international standing.
