CSE partially repealed restrictive measures in the field of justice

The Commission for Exceptional Situations (CSE) has partially repealed restrictive measures in the field of justice. Thus, according to the CSE's decision of 10 April, the seven Supreme Court judges who had previously submitted requests for resignation, the legal effects of which had been suspended by a provision of the Commission for Exceptional Situations, will cease their activity as judges of the court.

The Government announces that the decision was approved in the context in which the state authorities have adjusted the regulatory framework with the necessary mechanisms to solve the difficulties related to the provisional filling of vacancies of judges at the Supreme Court and have initiated the competition for filling, through temporary transfer, the vacant positions of judges at the Supreme Court of Justice.

The CSE decided on 31 March to suspend, for a period of 30 days, the applications for resignation submitted by SCJ judges in order to avoid a deadlock in the judiciary.
