Warm welcome for father and daughter after cycling from France to Moldova

They transformed their desire for the Republic of Moldova into a two-wheeled journey. An 18-year-old girl and her father, Moldovans living in France, traveled over 2,800 kilometers by bicycle to reach their hometown of Balasinești in the Briceni district.
After 21 days of travel, their adventure concluded at the Lipcani customs post, where they were welcomed with applause.

Sergiu Alexuța and his daughter Adelina embarked on an incredible adventure, cycling over 2,800 kilometers in 21 days from France to the Republic of Moldova. Their journey took them through mountains, along highways, and under the scorching sun, testing their endurance.
"We faced many obstacles, with temperatures reaching 40 to 42 degrees Celsius. We woke up early to cover the distance, but encountered numerous challenges, including heavy traffic that required caution," said Sergiu Alexuța, a Moldovan residing in France.
For 18-year-old Adelina, the trip was the fulfillment of a long-held dream. A law student in Paris, she has been cycling since childhood—a passion she inherited from her father. She has always wanted to reach the Republic of Moldova by bicycle to experience Europe at a different pace.
"I've been cycling since I was ten. My father instilled this passion in me, and I usually travel to the Republic of Moldova by car or plane throughout the year. I truly love the Republic of Moldova and cycling, and it was a dream for me to complete the France-Moldova route by bike with my father. The mountains were challenging but beautiful; Romania was stunning, and in Hungary, it was tough because there were no dedicated bike paths," Adelina shared.
Upon their arrival in Balasinești, they were greeted like heroes. The locals welcomed them with flowers and applause, making the moment even more special.
