Elena Erighina, two medals at the European Championships
Weightlifter Elena Erighina stood out at the European Championships in the Armenian capital Yerevan. The Moldovan won the silver medal in the snatch event and the bronze medal in the total weight category of 81 kg.
Erighina recorded the result of 104 kilograms in the snatch event and placed second, and then with 130 kilograms in the throwing event she placed fourth. Overall, with 234 kilograms lifted, she finished the competition in third place.
The Republic of Moldova is represented at the European Weightlifting Championships by 11 athletes. Marin Robu recently won a bronze medal in the snatch and in the total weight category of 89 kg.
