A 64-year-old resident of Chișinău fell victim to scammers and lost over 1.12 million lei. The woman was persuaded to hand over the money to an unknown individual after people posing as energy company employees and police manipulated her.

Initially, an unknown person contacted the victim by phone, claiming to be an employee of the company "Premier Energy." Subsequently, to increase psychological pressure and gain the victim's trust, another individual—claiming to be a police officer—became involved in the scheme.

Using a fabricated pretext, the perpetrators convinced the woman to gather her savings and hand them over to a courier sent directly to her address.

As a result, the victim lost 1,120,735 lei.

The scam took place between September 10 and 16.

Citizens repeatedly urged to remain vigilant
