Ilan Shor wants his deputy mandate back
Shor wants his deputy mandate back. The representatives of the "ŞOR" Party announce that they contested the decision of the Parliament regarding the de jure termination of Ilan Şor's deputy mandate at the Constitutional Court.
The "ŞOR" party claims that the Parliament's decision is illegal, abusive, which contravenes the legal framework, the Supreme Law and seriously violates the fundamental rights of an elected official of the people, in the absence of a final and irrevocable court decision.
Additionally, the representatives of the "ŞOR" Party ask the Court not to validate the mandate of the next deputy on the party's list, until the referral is examined. We remind you that Ilan Șor is no longer a deputy as of April 27, after 56 deputies voted in Parliament on the draft decision. Likewise, Ilan Șor was sentenced on April 13, to 15 years in prison in the "bank fraud" case, in the second instance. He was deprived of the right to hold positions in the banking system for a period of 5 years and the sum of 5.2 billion lei was ordered to be collected from the fugitive politician.
