The head of the CEC in the Gagauz autonomy, Iana Covalenco, did not answer the phone to tell us whether the complaint was received and what she will do about it.

Last week, NAC officers together with anti-corruption prosecutors raided the homes and offices of members of the "Sor" party in the south of the country in a voter corruption case. The case concerns 10 people, including the candidate of the "Șor" Party for the position of Bashkan, Evghenia Guțul.

The material gathered shows that in March the persons concerned knowingly accepted financial means from an organised criminal group. CNA officers established that each activist was paid 15,000 lei to persuade 30 voters to vote for the "Șor" party.

Shortly after the raids, "Șor" Party MP Reghina Apostolova came out with a reaction calling the NAC's actions a total transgression. The candidate of the Sor Party, Evghenia Guțul, and Grigori Uzun, supported by the PSRM, obtained the most votes and will fight in the second round on 14 May.
