First visit to the Republic of Moldova by an Austrian Parliament Speaker: Wolfgang Sobotka is coming to Chisinau
The President of the National Council of the Republic of Austria, Wolfgang Sobotka, will pay an official visit to Chisinau. It is the first visit to the Republic of Moldova by a president of the parliament of Austria in the 31 years since the establishment of Moldovan-Austrian diplomatic relations, announces the Communication and Public Relations Department of the Chisinau Parliament.
On Tuesday, May 16, the Austrian Speaker will have meetings with the country's leadership - the president of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, the Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, and the prime minister, Dorin Recean.
At the Parliament, the Austrian official will also meet with the vice-president of the Foreign Policy and European Integration Commission, Ion Groza, and with the members of the Friendship Group with the Republic of Austria.
The agenda of the official visit also includes meetings with the Deputy Prime Ministers, Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, and Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, as well as with representatives of the Jewish Community in our country and with those of the Concordia Foundation in Chisinau.
During the official visit, current topics will be addressed, including the opportunities to boost cooperation between our country and the Republic of Austria, the security situation in the region and the European path of the Republic of Moldova.
