Under the current rates, for a parcel, sent to Romania with a weight of three kilograms, over 450 lei is paid. From January 1, this fee will be almost 280 lei. "A simple shipment costs 2.6 lei in Romania, Romanian lei. I would like to have this tariff in the Republic of Moldova. There are certain services from Romania that we propose to outsource to the Republic of Moldova next year. We estimate that somewhere between 30-50 jobs will be created in 2023", said Valentin Ștefan, general director of the Romanian Post. "From January 1 this rate will be reduced by 30%. A parcel, whether it is sent from Iași to Bucharest or from Chisinau to Bucharest, we want it to be at the same rate. In a short time we will come up with special rates for economic agents", said Roman Cojuhari, the director of Poșta Moldovei. The implementation of this project took almost a year to provide accessible services to citizens. "We will make the partnership to create digital services, to offer delivery services as in Romania, so that we also have that operativeness in the Republic of Moldova", said Iurie Țurcanu, the Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization of the Republic of Moldova. "One of the risks of the digital transformation process is that those who are behind can fall even further behind the average, because they do not have access to the same opportunities, to the same technologies. The Romanian Post is doing this, it can reach them", said Sebastian Burduja, Minister of Digitization in Romania. The partnership allows the exchange of parcels between the two countries at preferential rates, using the postal networks and logistics infrastructure of the two postal operators.
