Siegfried Mureșan: "I expected the Assembly to be a success, but the event surpassed my expectations."

The process of integrating the Republic of Moldova into the European Union is already underway, and a clear sign is the fact that our country is involved in many European projects. This statement was made by Siegfried Mureșan, a Member of the European Parliament, in an interview with Moldova 1. According to the European official, Moldovans have already expressed their desire for integration into the EU. The results of the recent presidential and parliamentary elections can serve as proof.

"People have expressed themselves and have dismissed the politicians of the past who have held the Republic of Moldova back, who have kept the Republic of Moldova captive. And this vote cast by the people has led to an increase in the European Union's confidence in the Republic of Moldova," said Siegfried Mureșan, Member of the European Parliament.

Siegfried Mureșan also mentioned that each of us must work shoulder to shoulder, participate in as many projects as possible, in order to achieve the common objective that we have set.

"But in the future, in everyday life, people will have to remain active, remain vigilant, communicate about the benefits of the European Union, talk to parents, grandparents. People in villages should talk to their neighbors, address those who may have primarily listened to Russian-language television. We want to help all citizens of the Republic of Moldova, regardless of whether they speak Romanian, Turkish, Ukrainian, or Russian at home."

It should be noted that two weeks ago, the European Parliament approved the granting of macro-financial assistance in the amount of 145 million euros to the Republic of Moldova. In addition to integration into the EU's transport and energy networks, another historic achievement for our country is the accession to the European Interconnection Mechanism, which will allow Chisinau to access funding for infrastructure development.
