Alain Berset: "We see how democracy regresses everywhere, including in Europe. We must adapt if we want a strong democracy"
In November, the Republic of Moldova will assume the presidency of the Council of Europe. One of the main priorities will be to adapt democracy to current realities. While artificial intelligence and social networks are not inherently dangerous, they can become tools of manipulation in the hands of malicious actors. These technologies have the potential to radicalize public discourse, create alternate realities, or isolate individuals within their own information bubbles. This situation ultimately undermines trust in democratic systems. President Maia Sandu welcomed the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset, in Chisinau.
