"The Republic of Moldova, a candidate country for the EU, and declaring itself a country with carbon neutrality until 2050, has strict obligations in the field of environment that contribute to improving the quality of water, air, soil, waste management and biodiversity protection. We have started to adopt new laws in the field of environment, harmonized with the legislation of the European Union and we must ensure that they are implemented and produce changes felt by citizens, through clean air and water, through rehabilitated soils, recycled waste, planted and protected forests", declared Igor Grosu.

Also, the Parliament Speaker said that the European Union supports the Republic of Moldova in this process through technical and financial assistance. An example is the "Life" program brought to our country by the European Union Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, Virginijus Sinkevičius.

We remind you that on June 5, annually, World Environment Day is celebrated, established in 1972 at the UN General Assembly. World Environment Day has become the largest global platform for the promotion, protection of the environment and the fight against climate change.
