Modern infrastructure, new study programs and high-performance laboratories for USM students. The project, supported by the World Bank

Students from the State University of Moldova (USM) will benefit from modern infrastructure and new study programs, as well as high-performance laboratories. Through a project implemented by the Ministry of Education and financed with the World Bank, several institutions in the Republic of Moldova will benefit from new technologies that will allow young people new study opportunities.

By the end of 2023, several laboratories will be renovated at the State University of Moldova, and educational processes in the field of ICT will be modernised. The contribution of the World Bank is 43,000 euros.

"We attach great importance to the infrastructure, investments in the human factor and last but not least in creating good conditions for USM students. All the projects so far have been completed within the terms", said USM rector, Igor Sharov.

In order to offer more employment opportunities abroad, the administration of the State University of Moldova signed a memorandum with the Romanian Investors Association, which provides for more internships in some companies.

"They can practise within our company which will be found in positions that we propose to them. In general, we need young specialists in several fields", says Constantin Coțofan, entrepreneur.

The actions take place within a project in which several universities and colleges are targeted.

"A few weeks ago, the project was announced and launched in 13 educational institutions, including seven universities and six pedagogical colleges. These institutions will implement 20 projects, worth a total of 290 million lei," said the Minister of Education, Anatolie Topală.

The "Higher Education in Moldova" project is implemented by the Ministry of Education, Research and financed by the World Bank and has a budget of 289 million lei.
