Nicu Popescu had a meeting in Paris with French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna
Moldova's Head of Diplomacy Nicu Popescu started his working visit in Paris with a meeting with Catherine Colonna, French Foreign Minister. The officials discussed Moldova's European course and welcomed the discussions within the European Union on accelerated enlargement, an issue also mentioned by President Macron at his press conference during the European Political Community Summit in Moldova.
During the meeting, topics relevant to our diaspora in France were also discussed.
Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu expressed his gratitude to France for its support in signing the agreement on the reduction of roaming tariffs to bring Moldova closer to the European Union.
"I highlighted the positive evolution of relations between the Republic of Moldova and France, including the increase in bilateral trade. I also thanked my counterpart for France's support in the smooth running of the European Political Community Summit, as well as for the constant help offered to our country by our French partners", said Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu.
The importance of the rapid ratification of the Moldovan-French convention on the avoidance of double taxation was also discussed, as well as other relevant projects, such as the Support Platform for Moldova, initiated by France, Germany and Romania.
The next meeting of this platform will take place in Chisinau in October this year.
