Exdrupo renewed its fleet of vehicles
For two years, Regia Exdrupo renewed itself with only 14 vehicles and mechanisms for the sanitation of the city. Although it seems a rather small number, the expenses for machinery amount to 23 million lei. The municipal authorities say that in the coming years, modern equipment will be procured, as the purchases made in recent years do not cover the company's needs.
Workers say that the newly procured special vehicles are more equipped and can be used in any season.
"A vacuum cleaner is put on it, the vacuum cleaner is very good, I tested it. It does very good work.";
"In winter, we sprinkle with it, and when spring comes, we take the machine down and carry asphalt, gravel, and sand."
This year, two cars were also purchased to transport the workers.
"This model of machines are new, they are equipped, they have 20 seats for workers, they have space in the back for tools and the necessary equipment. The conditions were worse in the old cars."
Regia Exdrupo lacks workers, especially mechanizers.
"60 percent of the company’s park is overdue. We keep them all functional, they are repaired in time to meet the needs of the city. We need mechanizers, we call on all possible ways, we announce this fact", says the head of Exdrupo, Sergiu Tomiță.
"If within 10 years there were any investments, then today we were in a much better condition. We still need to procure equipment, as I said, they are extremely large investments", mentions the vice mayor of the capital Ilie Ceban.
In total, the "Exdrupo" company has over 100 vehicles and mechanisms.
