EIB will continue financing road reconstruction works within the "Moldova roads III" project
The European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide an additional loan of 100 million euros to continue the road construction and renovation works within the "Moldova roads III" project. The Government approved the ratification of the Financing Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the EIB.
As part of the project, new sections of roads will be built and repaired. The road R34 Hîncești – Leova – Cahul – Giurgiulești will be repaired, sector III, Cantemir – Cahul; M3 Chisinau – Comrat – Giurgiulești – the border with Romania, the construction of the missing sector, the bypass sector of Cimislia. Feasibility studies and project documentation have been developed for these road sectors, which will allow the procurement of the works to be launched. The implementation of the project will contribute to improving the state and quality of the national road network, including increasing mobility and transport efficiency throughout the country. Also, new jobs will be created and economic development will be supported through investments in the rehabilitation and construction of roads, states the Executive.
