Over 40 thousand citizens exercised their right to vote at the 59 polling stations opened on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. Of these, about 18 thousand voted in Chisinau.

Over 29 thousand Moldovans with Romanian citizenship voted by 10:00 in the first round of the presidential elections in Romania, in the 59 polling stations open on the territory of the country. The Republic of Moldova remains in the top of the countries where voters with Romanian citizenship vote the most actively.
In all, in the 950 polling stations open abroad, over 241 thousand Romanians from the diaspora have so far gone to the polls. Most of them in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Voting in the diaspora began on Friday and will end today at 21:00.
In Romania, over 18 million voters are expected at the polls today to vote for one of the 14 candidates who entered the presidential race. Nearly 19,000 polling stations have been opened across the country. Voter turnout is currently over 6%.
The second round will take place on December 8, and voting in the diaspora will take place on December 6, 7 and 8.
