Gifts for the little patients of the Oncological Institute, on the eve of the holidays, from the Moldovan diaspora in Canada
The magic of the winter holidays is also felt by the children hospitalized at the Oncological Institute in Chisinau. On Christmas Eve, children with leukemia had many surprises. The little patients enjoyed the gifts offered by the Canadian diaspora and a concert by a native artist.
In addition to toys and sweets, the patients of the Pediatric Oncology ward also received financial aid. "Here we have a present for an eight-year-old boy. We have some healthy crisps, some sweets and biscuits. Here we have a gift for the little girl. All Lego, only for little girls and, again, healthy chips and sweets". In total, the Canadian diaspora gave seven thousand dollars to children with leukemia. More than 50 children admitted to the Oncological Institute and those who are on a break from treatment will benefit from gifts and financial support. "A child's oncological disease is also a burden for the family. As an association, we often try to help them with various products and services, but this time we resorted to a small financial aid, which will benefit every family that is hospitalized here and takes care of a child with cancer" , says Natalia Vâlcu-Bajurean, president of A.O "Life without Leukemia". More than 30 children suffering from leukemia are hospitalized at the Oncological Hospital in Chisinau.
