Israel to investigate intelligence failures after Hamas attack
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday acknowledged that intelligence and security failures allowed Hamas to launch a devastating attack on Israel on October 7, killing more than 1,300 people, reported The Guardian and news.ro.
"There are many questions about the disaster that befell us 10 days ago," Netanyahu told the Knesset, Israel's parliament. "We will investigate every aspect in detail."
Netanyahu said that the Israeli people are united in their goal of defeating Hamas, which he called a "new version of Nazism." He also appealed to the world to unite against Hamas.
"The world now understands who Israel is facing," Netanyahu said. "They understand that Hamas represents a new version of Nazism. Just as the world united to defeat the Nazis and ISIS, it must unite to defeat Hamas."
