"The threat of enemy airstrikes and missiles remains throughout the territory of Ukraine," the General Staff emphasized. Following the attack on December 31, seven people were injured in Nikolaev. The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Kliciko, reported one death and more than 20 wounded, following the attack on civilian facilities in the Ukrainian capital. According to the mayor, 14 civilians were admitted to the hospital, in serious health condition, for medical care. It should be noted that in his New Year's address this year, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, looked back on 2022 as the most difficult in the country's history and was sure that victory will be on Ukraine's side in the new year. "We don't know exactly what the new year, 2023, will bring us, but we are ready for anything. New achievements? We will be happy. New battles? We will be steadfast. Continuation of the fight? We will fight. And when we win, we will hug," said Zelensky, quoted by Ukrainskaia Pravda. On the other hand, the president of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, emphasized, in his address to the population on New Year’s night, referring to his "historical territories", that "the truth is on Russia's side". "Together we build. And we create. The main thing is the fate of Russia. Defense of the Motherland is our sacred duty to our ancestors and descendants," added Putin, quoted by Ria Novosti.
