Smuggling of 103 coins, ingots and coins at Leușeni customs: A Moldovan, documented

A 36-year-old man is being documented by the Moldovan customs officials, after he tried to illegally introduce 103 coins, an ingot and two medals, allegedly made of precious metal, into the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The case was registered today, December 5, at Leușeni customs.

According to the Customs Service, a minibus from the "France-Moldova" route showed up at the Leușeni border crossing point. Thus, during the checks of passengers and their luggage, in a traveler's handbag, the law enforcement officers found goods not declared to the customs body: 103 coins, an ingot and two medals, supposed to be made of precious metal

At the hearings, the person said that the coins were purchased for 300 euros, and the supposed gold ingot - 800 euros.

The goods were seized and confiscated, and investigations into the case are ongoing.
