Number of pneumonia cases in Chisinau increased by 25 percent
In the municipality of Chisinau, the number of pneumonia cases increased by 25 percent during the past week, announced today the deputy head of the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance, Vladimir Bolocan.
According to him, more than half of the patients hospitalized with pneumonia are children.
"Of the total cases of pneumonia, 63% are children. We are currently managing this workload. Six people are in serious health condition and need oxygen," Vladimir Bolocan said.
He said that half of the places in the Covid-19 section of the Municipal Phthisiopneumology Hospital are already occupied by patients.
The deputy head of the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance, Vladimir Bolocan, warned parents to monitor their children during this period, when the number of scarlet fever cases could increase.
