Tragic fire at German hospital claims four lives, injures ten
A fire that erupted at a hospital in Uelzen, Lower Saxony, early Thursday morning tragically claimed the lives of four individuals and injured at least ten others.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
"The fire broke out on the third floor of the medical clinic," confirmed a police spokesperson. "Upon arrival, emergency services heard cries for help and managed to rescue several people."
Their swift action contained the flames and prevented further spread. However, the fire caused extensive damage to the facility, necessitating evacuation and patient transfer to other hospitals.
"The victims of the fire have not yet been identified," the spokesperson added, further stating that "investigations are ongoing, and an expert opinion will be sought to elucidate the circumstances surrounding the fire."
This tragedy has shaken the Uelzen community and beyond. Local authorities express their deepest condolences to the victims' families and friends.
