Citizens with electronic signatures will receive, starting today, notifications regarding the expiration of their passports and bulletins

Citizens who have an electronic signature and are registered with the government service MNotify will receive, starting today, prior notifications regarding the expiration of the validity period of the passport and identity card, informs the Public Services Agency.

According to the source, the notice will be given 60 and 30 days before the expiry of the validity period of the documents. The third endorsement will be made on the date of expiry or cancellation of the passport or identity card for other reasons. The MNotify service can be accessed for free.

Notifications can be received via email, the citizen's government portal, short messages (SMS) or instant messages on Facebook Messenger, Viber, Telegram, Skype and What's up, depending on what the citizen has set in his personal profile in MNotify. Also, the notifications will be sent and can be viewed, including, in the Personal Cabinet (mcabinet.gov.md). In the profile, users can also set their preferred notification language as well as the time when they want to receive the notifications.

Currently, the electronic signature is obtained at the Information Technology and Cyber Security Service and at mobile phone operators.
