Moldova to Host 2025 European Weightlifting Championships

Moldova has been selected to host the prestigious 2025 European Senior Weightlifting Championships, marking a historic first for the country.

The decision was announced by the European Weightlifting Federation (EWF) in Sofia, Bulgaria, during the ongoing European Championships.

Next year's competition will take place in April at the Chișinău Arena. This follows Moldova's successful hosting of the European Youth and Under-15 Weightlifting Championships in 2023, also held at the Chișinău Arena. That tournament witnessed the participation of 346 athletes from 37 countries.

The European Senior Weightlifting Championships is the continent's premier weightlifting competition, drawing the finest weightlifters from across Europe.
