Outrage: Farmers Block Arc de Triomphe, 66 Arrested

Sixty-six French farmers were arrested after blocking the Arc de Triomphe with tractors and hay bales in a protest against European Union agricultural policies.

The protest began in the morning, as farmers drove tractors into central Paris and blocked traffic on the Champs-Élysées. Police were called to the scene and eventually dispersed the crowd, arresting 66 people.

The farmers are angry about several issues, including cheap imports, subsidies favouring large farms, and the Green Deal. They say that these policies are making it difficult for small farmers to make a living.

This protest is part of a larger wave of demonstrations by farmers across Europe. In recent weeks, farmers in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and Italy have all staged protests against the EU's agricultural policy. They are demanding higher subsidies, less bureaucracy, and fairer competition. They are also protesting against unfair competition with Ukraine.
