The fire in Giurgiulești Port: Cooling works were carried out on another tank nearby
In the last 24 hours, the teams of rescuers and firefighters from the south of the country carried out work to extinguish the fire on the territory of the Giurgiulești Free International Port, as well as to evacuate some components from the collapsed tank in order to have access to the fire.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), at the same time cooling works were carried out on another nearby reservoir (no. 2) in order to prevent a possible risk situation. "Furthermore, a post of rescuers and firefighters is active at the site to ensure fire safety, but also to carry out extinguishing works", states IGSU. We remind you that on Monday, a fire broke out following the collapse of a storage tank in the Giurgiulești International Free Port. According to the increased number of interventions, 6 teams of rescuers and firefighters were alerted, which managed to locate the fire at 12:00. No casualties were reported as a result of the incident. The circumstances of the case are being investigated.
