Carabinieri from the Republic of Moldova will participate in peacekeeping operations in Kosovo. A project stipulating this was approved in the Government meeting.
Three soldiers from the General Inspectorate for the Carabinieri will be deployed to these operations, and their selection, designation and training will start on April 1, said the Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros.
"The purpose of the project is to ensure the deployment and participation of the carabinieri in the context of fulfilling the commitments of the Republic of Moldova to support the international community in its efforts to maintain a climate of peace, but also in order to capitalize on the capabilities and specifics of the police forces with dual military status in accordance with the mandate of the mission acts to strengthen or replace local police forces. Execution of missions to maintain, ensure and restore public order by carrying out police operations to stabilize and fight riots in the crowd", said Adrian Efros.
We remind that, during the mission, the carabinieri will receive 50 dollars a day. 800 thousand lei are allocated from the state budget, which also includes the medical insurance of the military.
