Chisinau Land Auction Nets Over 133 Million Lei
Chisinau City Hall auctioned off 11 out of 16 plots of land today, raising over 133 million lei. Intense bidding occurred for a significant plot located in the Circus area, resulting in a final sale price of almost 95 million lei.
"We offered a selection of lots, including private residences and a large plot in the Circus area. This plot is currently in a dilapidated state and underutilised. Three years ago, an urban development plan was approved for the area, outlining various construction projects," stated Ilie Ceban, Deputy Mayor of Chisinau.
Business representatives who participated in the auction declined to comment on the Moldova 1 team. Six construction companies contended for the most sought-after plot on Renaissance National Boulevard, measuring over 7,000 square metres.
"The auction for this plot on Renaissance National Boulevard began at 50 million lei and concluded at almost double the price, selling for 95 million lei. A residential building is planned for the site. The planned number of floors for the building is not yet known, though other multi-story developments are underway in the area," reported Valeria Tăbîrță, journalist, Moldova 1.
The municipality successfully sold 11 of the 16 lots at today's auction, with proceeds directed to the local budget. The remaining five plots will be re-listed for a future auction.
