Diverse Ventures: Education, Agriculture, Tech, Benefit from Startup Support
Twenty additional companies are poised to benefit from non-repayable funding of up to 500,000 lei each through the Digital Innovation and Technological Startup Support Program.
These selections follow the second call initiated by the Entrepreneurship Development Organization, which has today announced the recipients. The projects encompass various sectors, including education, agriculture, communication, and renewable energy. The cumulative sum allocated for project implementation stands at 8.7 million lei.
Among the funding recipients is Vitalii Petrosian, who has been awarded a grant totaling 500,000 lei. Mr. Petrosian has developed an application, specifically an educational game, aimed at aiding users in learning the English language.
"Our pricing model, tailored specifically for Moldovan students, will average around 20 euros per annum. We are currently implementing our solutions in numerous schools across Moldova, with a pivotal focus on offering our solutions not only to students but also to educators. All teachers will have instantaneous access to the analysis dashboard," remarked Vitalii Petrosian.
Another notable project entails the creation of a platform with the objective of promoting sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices.
"Our clientele comprises multinational corporations, manufacturing firms, and distributors of agricultural phytosanitary products. Our platform serves to assist these entities, facilitating the identification and promotion of regenerative soil practices among their customer base," elaborated Vladimir Munteanu, company administrator.
Additionally, a team of young entrepreneurs has embarked on a venture aimed at modernising traditional business card protocols. Their solution involves implementing a digital platform featuring QR code-enabled cards, allowing for seamless data retrieval and storage on mobile devices. Seventeen-year-old Dorian Lisnic, the brain behind this initiative, shared his enthusiasm for the project's success, expressing intentions to allocate the grant towards further project development.
"We intend to invest in the creation of a digital platform, thus forgoing investments in physical solutions, ensuring accessibility exclusively through mobile devices for enhanced convenience," stated Dorian Lisnic, company founder.
The second call for non-repayable funding through the Digital Innovation and Technological Startups Support Program received over 100 applications.
Gheorghe Iudin, interim director of the Entrepreneurship Development Organization, extended congratulations to the awardees.
"Out of the 110 applicants, you have emerged as the best. I urge those who were unsuccessful to reapply, endeavouring to refine their proposals and glean insights from previous attempts. To those who have yet to apply, I encourage you not to be disheartened, as further opportunities will arise," emphasised Mr. Iudin.
Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, underscored the pivotal role of supporting companies within the digital technology sector to foster productivity and enhance economic competitiveness.
"The potential impact of such initiatives is monumental, potentially spearheading transformative changes across various sectors, spanning from agriculture to energy. We take pride in every endeavour towards innovation. Moldova remains a conducive environment for entrepreneurial pursuits, and we are committed to fostering and promoting such endeavours," affirmed Minister Alaiba.
The program is made possible through financial backing from the Western NIS Enterprise Fund and the "Technologies of the Future" Project, supported by USAID, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. The inaugural project call saw the Entrepreneurship Development Organization designate 14 successful recipients, with a total grant allocation of nearly six million lei.
