Residents of a neighborhood in Comrat will benefit from a renovated road
More than 4,000 residents of a neighborhood in the city of Comrat will benefit from a renovated road, a sports field, and a park. An extensive infrastructure rehabilitation project has started in the locality, financed by the National Fund for Regional and Local Development of the Republic of Moldova. The works will finish in three months at the most.
Vitalii Manjul from the municipality of Comrat has been living in the Tukaniaska neighborhood since childhood. The man says that the roads have not been repaired for years.
"I've lived on this street since I was a little kid. I remember very well how I used to run through the ditches here, the road was in a bad condition".
According to the project, the first stage of modernization of the infrastructure involves leveling the roads, installing the pavement and installing curbs. Later, works will be carried out to develop a recreation area and a sports field.
"Now it will be easier for children, men, but especially women to walk, the shoes will not wear out. I am confident that the works will be carried out qualitatively", added resident Vitalii Manjul.
The municipal authorities from Comrat claim that 820 meters of road will be repaired under the project.
"I think that for 70 years we haven't had a repaired road here, there was only the white version. Now it is done. Practically, there has never been a sports field or a park in this neighborhood", said the mayor of the Comrat municipality, Serghei Anastasov. The total cost of the project is 10 million lei, of which 10 percent is the contribution of Comrat City Hall.
