Victoria Cazacu, excluded from PAS Party

Deputy Victoria Cazacu was excluded from the faction of the Action and Solidarity Party. The announcement was made by the deputy chairperson of the Legislative, Doina Gherman, during the Parliament session on April 11. The decision was taken after her daughter was targeted in a corruption scheme at Chisinau Airport.

"The PAS fraction decided to exclude Victoria Cazacu from membership of the fraction," declared Doina Gherman. Diana Cazacu, the daughter of Victoria Cazacu, declared in a TV show that the parliamentarian will not submit her mandate, but will go as an independent deputy. She also stated that "following the latest events, her mother's health has worsened, and she is currently hospitalized."

"I assure you that she will not submit her mandate, but she will go as an independent deputy. In my opinion, now is not the right time for her to submit her deputy's mandate", said Diana Cazacu.

We remind you that on April 3, the deputy of the Action and Solidarity Party, Victoria Cazacu, was excluded from the PAS party, after her daughter was targeted in a corruption scheme at the Airport. At the same time, PAS asked the parliamentarian to submit her mandate, obtained following the July 2021 parliamentary election, reiterating that the party has assumed the fight against corruption and will not tolerate such cases.

Contacted by Radio Moldova, Victoria Cazacu said that her daughter was not detained, and under the rule of law and the presumption of innocence, she does not intend to submit her mandate and will remain an unaffiliated deputy until all the circumstances are settled.
