Risk of electricity disconnection
The Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Infrastructure, Andrei Spînu, announced this morning that there are risks of electricity disconnections.
Throughout today and tomorrow, due to possible massive Russian missile attacks on Ukraine, there is a risk of power outages across the country, the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development announces. According to the official, all state services are ready to intervene, if necessary.
TRM.MD recalls that yesterday evening, Moldelectrica announced that for today the Republic of Moldova would record a deficit of 74% of the required volume of electricity. Thus, our country will buy emergency electricity from Romania, however, it is not yet known what the purchase price is.
Andrei Spînu mentioned yesterday, during a televised show, that the price of electricity increased by up to 40% on the European markets, and Energocom failed to purchase the necessary volume.
It should be mentioned that, for one month, Energocom purchased electricity from the Romanian stock market at a price of 231 euros for 1 MWh.
