IMF will grant the Republic of Moldova a loan of 160 million dollars
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) will grant the Republic of Moldova financial assistance worth 160 million dollars. The money will be used to finance the needs of the state budget. The draft law on raising the loan was voted by the Parliament in the first reading.
The loan will be granted to our country for a period of 20 years. According to a press release from the Legislative, in order to receive the respective financial assistance, the Republic of Moldova will implement 12 reform measures in order to reduce the effects of climate change.
"The program of the financing mechanism for resilience and sustainability will support the efforts of the Republic of Moldova to increase resistance to climate shocks, to implement reforms in the energy sector and to ensure the mobilization of sustainable financing", informs the quoted source.
The draft law is to be examined by the Parliament in the second reading as well.
