Romanian MEP Diana Sosoacă was banned from entering Ukraine

The Romanian MEP, Diana Ivanovici-Soșoacă, was banned from entering Ukraine for three years, being accused of having close ties with the Kremlin regime. Soșoacă is the leader of the far-right party SOS, separated from another far-right party - AUR or Alliance for the Union of Romanians.

In the last three years, Șoșoacă regularly went to the Russian Embassy in Bucharest, to participate in the reception organized on the occasion of the National Day of Russia.

This year, Şosoacă was elected to the European Parliament for the first time.

However, she was forcibly removed from the inaugural session, after the scandal she caused during the debate on Ursula von der Leyen's candidacy for a new term at the head of the European Commission.
