Voters will be able to sign electronically to support candidates for the position of president of the Republic of Moldova
The Central Electoral Commission informs that in the presidential elections of October 20, the collection of signatures to support candidates for the position of President of the Republic of Moldova is additionally admitted through the "Electronic Subscription List" IT System, managed by the Central Electoral Commission. Authentication and signing in the System will be possible only with the help of electronic or mobile signature, through the MPass authentication and access control Service.
According to the CEC, the initiative group will present on paper the subscription lists with the minimum number established by the electoral legislation, of 15 thousand valid signatures of the supporters, and the difference up to 25 thousand signatures will be able to be collected through the system.
The signature functionality in the electronic subscription list of the designated candidate will be activated immediately after the release of the identity cards and forms of the paper subscription lists to the initiative group established in support of the respective candidate. The process of collecting signatures through the SSI LSE will be stopped, once the paper subscription lists are received for verification, but no later than 30 days before the election day.
The Commission reminds that a voter can support, by signing on the subscription lists, several candidates, but cannot support the same candidate, by signing, twice or more.
We remind you that the reception of documents for the registration of initiative groups to support candidates for the position of President of the Republic of Moldova will begin on August 21. Within 3 days from the date of submission of the list of members, the CEC adopts a decision on the result of the examination of the documents, and in the case of the registration of the initiative group, issues the identification cards and subscription lists for the collection of signatures in support of the candidate.
