Moldova begins candidate registration for presidential election
Today, 21 August, marks the beginning of the nomination and registration period for candidates for the office of President of the Republic of Moldova, as well as for participants in the referendum, announced the Central Electoral Commission (CEC). The deadline for submitting the required documents is 31 August.
It is important to note that each presidential candidate is required to form an initiative group. To register this group, the necessary documents must be submitted to the CEC no later than 50 days before the election.
The initiative groups must gather signatures in support of their respective candidates. The subscription lists must include between 15,000 and 25,000 signatures, collected from at least half of the second-level administrative-territorial units within the Republic of Moldova.
The deadline for submitting the subscription lists is 20 September.
