Woman from Ukraine, convicted for bribing a policeman
A citizen of Ukraine gets 4 years of suspended sentence, announces the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Moldova. She was found guilty of bribing a police officer from the Botanica Police Inspectorate. It happened in May 2024, when the woman was detained by CNA officers, after she was reported by the head of the Botanica Police Inspectorate.
The defendant tried to offer $20,000 to a police officer to protect the illegal activity of a call center in Chisinau.
In addition to the conviction, the woman was fined 200,000 lei, and the sum of 20,000 dollars was confiscated as the proceeds of crime, to be transferred to the state budget.
